I know it's for windows, but you could use Corel Draw (http://www3.corel.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/AppLogic+FTContentServer?pagename=Corel/Product/Details&id=CC1IOY1YKCC). It works great. You can do columns of text, import figures (images) write out pdf files, set the size of the paper. Does a much better job than powerpoint. The academic price is cheap for windows software (approx. $160). Is this for a scientific poster?

  Subject: [wplug] posters?

  Hi all-

Does anyone know of a decent application which allows for large format layout (ie: poster size)? I have used LaTeX a bit, and I'm sure I could specify a big pagesize with the appropriate document class, but the thought of trying to make a poster with it gives me nightmares. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks,

  Doug
