Also check out 'make menuconfig' and 'make xconfig'

menuconfig requires ncurses development packages to be installed,
and xconfig requires tcl/tk and probably 'xauth merge
~xuser/.Xauthority' (where xuser is the user running X) so that root
can use the X display.
