BTW, this evening I made my first visit to Pitt Linux lab. The boxen
seem to be pretty well-equipped desktop Linux workstations, with RH and
Gnome. I don't know how many people will be using them that aren't
already *nix fans, but could possibly win some people over. The only
thing that might scare a newbie off is that after logging in, you are
greeted with a console prompt. I'd prefer to go straight into X, but
that's just me.
