I went to Pitt for undergrad, and they did their mail through Unix
(eventually Solaris)- you would telnet from your windows box and use
pine.
I always thought it was funny that you could type "netscape" at the
command line and it would look like it was trying to do something.
But now I run linux and by ssh'ing into Pitt, I can forward the X
connection and a netscape browser appears on my desktop. Lots of
people's first interactions with *nix seem to be through a telnet/mail
situation like mine, and they associate unix with Microsoft Telnet. Ick.
Just some thoughts. Sorry to clog your boxen.
