So what you're saying is that in the past 20 or 30 years, Microsoft has made better software than, say, the GNU people?  I'm not a developer (although in time I seek to remedy that), but looking at this from an historical standpoint, I fail to see where Microsoft has come up with anything even close to what has been developed with the same open source/free software development tools that you opine are so lacking compared to M$ alternatives.
