Fellow monkeybot lovers-

This coming Saturday (Saturday! Saturday! Saturday!), February 2, 2002,
the Western Pennsylvania Linux Users Group will be hosting it's monthly
General User Meeting. It will run from 10am-2pm and will be held in
Carnegie Mellon University's Newel-Simon Hall, Room 1507. This month's
topic will be how to run windows applications in Linux (and not having
to worry about silly "My Party" worms!). We will begin at 10am with
introductions and some discussion to allow everyone to get comfortable
and all that jazz. If you plan on attending, I highly recommend that
you arrive at 10am so that you can meet everyone and everyone can meet
you!

At 11am, Jonathan Billings will start the fun times by demonstrating
Windows 2000 running in vmware (http://www.vmware.com) on a Linux
machine.

Following him, Zach Paine will give a brief demonstration of the Wine
Project (http://www.winehq.com), including Cavedog's Total Annihilation
(http://www.cavedog.com/totala/index.html) and Apple's QuickTime Player
(http://www.apple.com/quicktime) running on Linux.

Once these presentations are over, we will have some group discussion
regarding this and I'm sure many other topics.

Be sure to bring money for lunch. $5 or so should do. Maps and
directions can be found on the left-hand sidebar of the wplug homepage
(http://www.wplug.org). If you have any questions about the meeting
feel free to send some mail to me ( zman [at] wplug [dot] [org] ) or to
the wplug-plan list.

-Zach and company

PS. Thanks to the few #wplug irc l0sers who understood the monkeybot
