[wplug] Linux and laptops

I have a Dell Inspiron 5000, running Debian. I love it. As for service,
they don't help me with Linux, but I doubt they could manage the support
one can get from the Linux community (inlcuding and especially WPLUG),
which I think is the best computer software support going. As for service,
when my keyboard and motherboard died last semester, they had the parts
installed in about 36 hours, even though they had to manufacture and ship
the parts, which i thought was pretty good. On the phone, the service
people are usually very knowledgeable. I even talked to one tech who was
running Linux (of course he asked ME a question)!

Of course, my keyboard and motherboard DID die in the first place...

This is not a randomly sampled survey, but I bought the Dell in
the first place after a fair amount of research on price, ability to
configure, and reputation for service. I also have one of their
workstations.
