Newbies at the GUMs (Re: [wplug] LUG Ignorance)

Sorry that I am late to the discussion, but I haven't been able to check my
mail lately. Too busy. I also agree with jaaron. I know that when I first
started coming to GUMs that it was hard to get into discussions with people.
One of the reasons is that I am kind of shy and that I did feel a little
intimidated. I was new to WPLUG and to Linux. Well, I still am a newbie to
Linux. However, there were people there that did make me feel comfortable
and welcome.

I definitely agree here. I think there has been hesitation to do it in
the past and I'm not sure why. I suppose I'll have to gain the consent
from the other board members, but I think we will most likely do this at
the February GUM. For the late comers a greeter would be a really great
idea.

jaaron- I'd like to thank you for the contributions you've made already
to the group for being so vocal in your concerns and letting us know how
we can improve the group.

Thanks,
