Metapad is a windows text editor that automaticly recognizes what the .txt
file format is, and reads it as such.
You can choose what format you want to save it in, and even convert an
allready created file.
Supports: dos, unix, unicode, unicode (big endian)
I don't know what the diferance between the two unicodes are though, perhaps
someone could enlighten me?
available at: http://www.liquidninja.com/metapad/

Also, Mac's open dos files, but with the funny squares as the first
charictor on every line, do they use something different than the previous 4
types?
What exactly is 7 bit ascii text anyhow, unix text formating?
Also, what's the differance between a post script file and a text file?

befuddled,
