That's most probably irrelevant - it's a known issue with the VGA driver 
not being able to allocate memory (MTRR = Memory Type Range Register) 
or something like that. I'm getting loads of these with my S3 chip - 
nothing to do with fonts, though.

If you call an xterm by passing the fonts as command-line parameters 
(xterm -fn <font_name>) does that help?

Try different entries reported from xlsfonts, perhaps you'll get an idea 
of which font families have this problem.

Can't think of anything better at the moment... :-[
