Download these:
http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fontpack/default.htm
Put them in /usr/share/fonts/default/TrueType or wherever your xfs looks for
fonts.
Restart xfs and it should re-index your available fonts. After that, they
should be available under X11.

Subject: [wplug] Fonts

I have been developing Perl scripts using Tk to build user interfaces. Part
of the user interface has to display very large numbers, approx. 3" high.
My scripts look fine on Win32 but the typeface is very, very blocky on Linux
systems. I have heard that fonts are typically poorly done in Linux. Does
anyone know where or how I can obtain cleaner fonts, particularly ones that
can be used for large numbers?
