[wplug] /dev/ttyS0 busy

I posted a message a couple of days ago about pppd returning an error with 
something about terminal parameters.  Anyways, I've found that at least part 
of my pppd problem is that my modem's device ( /dev/ttyS0 ) is reported as 
busy from the time of startup.  So something has a hold of my serial port 
and I can't seem to trace it down.  Any suggestions on how to find the 
culprit process?
