[wplug] kapm-idled?

Can someone tell me what the process  "kapm-idled" might be and why it is 
consuming 60-70% of my CPU usage? It must be pretty low-level: it is process 
# 3 run by root.

BTW thanks for the comments on Stargate; decision is imminent.
