[wplug] a very minor miracle

I really should know better. When I found a user
review from someone who plugged in his FA311 and had
it recognized by Redhat 7.1 - sans kernel rebuild and
all of that - I decided it was time to go back to the
basics. 

Sho nuf, my ethernet card needed to be reseated. 

Worked wonders. I am sending this message from my
leetle old linux computer, through a Linksys Router,
thru a cable modem, and so forth. And chatting with my
boyfriend, who is also using the same router, etc.

Thanks for all your pointers - I've learned a good
deal more about the linux kernel than I would have
otherwise.
