Abstract:
The SEI held a colloquium entitled "Developing Quality Software @Internet
Speed: Toward 'Next Generation' Models for Software Process Improvement" on
October 18, 2001. The colloquium was sponsored by a group from the SEI and
Georgia Tech that is investigating software engineering in the fast lane.
New agile methodologies are being presented as the answer to developing
software quickly. The participants explored the need for different software
engineering practices, and if there is really anything new when you look at
the basic principles.
The presenters will summarize the colloquium discussions and provide
personal insight on the potential of agile methods. Active discussion with
the audience will be encouraged.
Please post this notice, distribute it broadly, and extend this
invitation to your colleagues who may be interested in software process
improvement and software engineering. We need people who can contribute
their knowledge, experience, time and ideas to make this SPIN
successful.
There will be no charge to attend this presentation.
(SM) CMMI, CMM Integration, IDEAL, Interim Profile, Personal Software
Process, PSP, SCE, Team Software Process, and TSP are service marks
of Carnegie Mellon University.
