[wplug] Need suggestions

Personally, I take most of the benchmarks I encounter with a grain of
salt... there are just to many variables which can cause benchmark
performance to diverge from what you encounter in the real world. That
said, benchmarks do have value in that they can help to establish a
reasonable comparison of competing products. Regarding this particular
benchmark... yes, they are on different CPUs, and really, they're also on
different kernels and apache builds. Too many variations if you want to
accept this as dogma, so don't. If you just flat out hate these results
though, try the ones here... http://www.chamas.com/bench/index.html They
have a better match of CPUs and platforms for the PHP to Perl comparison.
One other thing to note is that the results on both of these benches are
normalized against CPU speed... just to even the playing field.

I would take these benchmarks with a grain of salt. The CPUs used are
different.
