[wplug] startup directory

As typical, I'm a few days behind on my wplug mail reading, but I've 
recently seen two URLs that might be of general interest:

I haven't read it, but the name sounds promising.


This one describes BSD vs SysV init scripts and suggests a new way.

I had a similar idea, but as usual, someone else thought of it and
