it sounds like the tvtuner requires the resources of the sound stuff and
doesnt want to share. does the tuner stuff load as a module? if so when
you unload the module can you regain control of the mixer? kmix just uses
/dev/mixer, and all kmix knows is that it cannot write to it. kmix has no
idea that you just installed some new stuff and this might have something
to do with it.
