The graphics chip can be problem. Of course with 16MB you may not want to
run X. I have a NEC Versa 2760 with P166 and 96 MB of RAM. It has a neomagic
chip that wasn't supported by XF86. I found a X server that someone had
hacked. Otherwise the install went smoothly.

Subject: [wplug] Laptops

Does anyone have any experience installing Linux on laptops? I have an old
Texas Instuments Extensa 655CD (16MB ram, 1.2GB hdd, P133MMX) to play with
(it's spare). Slackware seems
to be the best choice, but if anyone has laptop experience, I'd like some
advice. Are there any major (in)compatibility issues I should be aware of
before I plop in the CD and go for it??
Thanks
Doug
