Oh, also.... You might already have gettext installed, but possibly you don't have the "msgfmt" command in your path. Do a find /usr -type f -name "msgfmt" or whatnot to see if it's anywhere under the /usr hierarchy. If it's not, you still need to compile & install gettext.
