[wplug] Problem installing Downloader for X under Mandrake 7.0

Greetings, all:

I am having trouble with the installation of a program called Downloader for
X, a download manager. I downloaded the tar.gz from 
http://www.krasu.ru/soft/chuchelo/download.php3 and unpacked it with no
apparent problem. When I cd'd to the sources directory and ran 'make
install', it seemed to go fine until it reached this point:

make[1]: Entering directory '/root/downloaders/4x/nt-1.24.1/main/po'
for i in 'ls *.po'; do \
	msgfmt $i -o 'echo $i | sed -e s/.po//'.gmo;\
done
/bin/sh: msgfmt: command not found

It stopped there, and left with these messages:

make[1]: ***[all] Error 127
make[1]: Leaving directory '/root/downloaders/4x/nt-1.24.1/main/po'
make: *** [all] Error 2

Any tips on how to complete this installation? I am running Mandrake 7.0.
