[wplug] Internet Access Solution...

Hi all,

Hey, I'm setting up a Linux box at home. Currently we're running two
windows machines and one mac. (One of the windows machines I have set up
for dual boot running 98 and Red Hat 7). Right now only the windows
machines have internet access (thru the free juno service, which I don't
recommend to anyone). Anyways, I'm looking for suggestions on two
things:

1. I'd love to get broadband internet access, but I'm in Greensburg,
(Westmoreland Co.). Verizon doesn't have DSL for me and cable's not
availiable quite yet either. Are there any other solutions? I've
thought about going with a satellite access system, but I haven't found
one that will support Linux yet. Does anyone know of one? Or am I just
going to have to wait for DSL. and/or cable to get to me?

2. Given that it's quite possible I'm just going to have to wait for
broadband, does anyone have any suggestions for a good dial-in ISP that
supports Linux? I'm looking for an ISP that will be flexible enough to
handle the different computers I've got. Plus eventually, I plan on
networking these computers together, using the Linux box as a
gateway/server. So I hope to find an ISP that can be flexible enough to
handle this. Any suggestions?

Finally, I'm new to the list, but interested in getting more involved
with the linux community. Just like to thank all those who make it
possible.

J Aaron
