[wplug] dual booting

Let me point out a pitfall that I ran into. I added a second drive which I
wanted to dedicate to Linux. I could not get lilo to boot off of that drive
until I told the BIOS to autodetect it. Apparently the BIOS was set to only
recognize the primary drive, so I could never get lilo to load off the
second drive. I told the BIOS to autodetect all drives and lilo started to
work.

Subject: [wplug] dual booting

Hello
I've decided to make my win2000 machine a dual booting box. I've purchased
an additional hard drive and to complicate issues I have a Promise ATA100
controller card connecting the drives to the board. While the information
on how to setup a box with IDE and SCSI drives looks useful
(http://www.wplug.org/pipermail/wplug/2001-July/001399.html) I'm curious how
this is all going to work with the IDE controller card. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Emilio
