So, if you try to mount an HFS+ filesystem under linux (or older versions of 
MacOS) you'll sucessfully mount it, but it'll be a read-only filesystem with 
a text file telling you that it's a HFS filesystem.  Pretty clever, I 
thought, if not frustrating.
