[wplug] Any Suggestion for DSL Service for Linux?

I've had @Home for 2 or 3 years now and had beenr reasonably happy. That is,
until I received an e-mail from them accusing me of running a mail server and
sending span. They said someone complained that I was sending them spam. I sent
them an e-mail asking who made this claim. So far I've haven't heard back from
them (it's been over 1 week). As far as I can tell, I don't have a mail server
running on my computer and I know I'm not spamming anyone.

They also said that I was running an FTP server. Now this is true. I sometimes
use FTP at work or CMU to get a file from home. According to @Home, this is not
allowed (along with serving web pages).

I think it is ridiculous to prevent me from FTP'ing to get an occasional file.
I could understand if I were letting hundreds of people FTP my computer.

I checked with Nauticom and I can get symmetric DSL (via Penntelecom). For DSL
service, I would need to switch my Bell Atlantic phone line to Penntelecom. The
cost would be 59.95 a month ($39.95 for DSL and $20 for phone service) for the
DSL and phone line. I checked with them and it is OK to run FTP and telnet
(they said that's some of the reasons people use DSL) although I don't believe
you are allowed to serve web pages.

I would be interested in other peoples experience with this. I'm planning to
switch shortly because I'm afraid that @Home will terminate my service without
any notice. (Trying to communicate with @Home is a time-consuming and
frustrating experience - and their technical people are clueless.)
