There was an article on Linuxworld (www.linuxworld.com) recently about
mplayer. He mentioned that there is a gui but you have to enable it when you
build it. It is not default. The article characterized mplayer as a good
program with a rotten install and documentation.

I have used mplayer to watch DVDs, but I do not believe that there is a
gui in mplayer, because I've read that the lead developer dislikes them.
I prefer xine (http://xine.sourceforge.net) for watching DVD's because
it supports menus and gives me full fps.
