i had bad ram once that led to corrupted files on my disk. my drive was
fine. you could argue that the files were fine the contents of the ram
were written, but the end reslut was the same.

|Multiple partitions is mostly good for making sure that if you lose a
|whole filesystem (i.e one whole partition) you don't lose everything.
