I dont understand what you need.  Any distro will compile stuff A-ok; it does not
matter if the distro supports RPMs Debs or whatnot.  As long as you have your
kernel headers, a compiler and any other package specific libraries you should
have no problem compiling any package.  The only pain in the ass is dependencies,
but I guess you get that with RPMs too.  BTW, slackware is an excellent choice(my
favorite); if you are interested, give it a try.
