[wplug-plan] topic for 8/5 GUM needed

If the incoming freshman idea doesn't work out, I am always interested in
learning more about networking and server issues. This is the type question
I always ask at WPLUG meetings and I have made progress, but I still lack
knowledge - the sort of stuff that we were supposed to explore in depth in
SIA that I still want to pursue, like:
Configuring LAMP server (Bill did touch this briefly at a recent GUM)
Routing issues (When my wireless access router puts wireless clients on a
separate subnet, how do I print to a PC back on the parent network?)
Firewall issues, especially in combination with multiple subnets (see
above). When will Norton Utilities be obsolete? (When everybody uses Linux
or OS X)?
LDAP authentication & networking of Windows and Linux. I want to be able to
set up my IPCop firewall to route multiple IP addresses from outside to
inside. When my $1200 Cisco PIX goes off line, I need a backup solution.
Command Line - I still haven't wrapped myself around the Linux paradigm.
Thus, I am now working in the WIMP environment (Windows-IIS-MySQL-PHP)
because I still am lost at the Linux command line. With my MacPro, OS X has
its own unix command line, plus it will boot a live CD under BootCamp, so I
have more chances to practice. (I am also lost in the OS X GUI - yet another
paradigm).
