Hello,

For the July 9th GUM, we are have a few people how have volunteered to 
show and tell their favorite distro. So far we plan to cover Mandrake, 
Knoppix, Gentoo, and FreeBSD. While we can not cover *every* distro, we 
are hoping to get a good variety of distros so that new users and gurus 
can sample what is available. This GUM is one week before an installfest 
so this meeting could inspire someone to try out a new distro the 
following Saturday.

Just to be perfectly clear, the point is NOT to create a flame war. The 
point is to celebrate diversity. This is not a competition.

We have time in the program to represent more distros, however we need 
more volunteers. If interested, you will have the floor for 10 minutes 
free of questions to highlight your favorite distros features. We will 
wrap it up with questions panel style. Chris Ott has volunteered to be our 
MC.

If you are serious about volunteering, please speak up now and tell us 
which distro you would like to feature. We are looking for people who can 
make a firm commitment to do this. Don't show up on the day of and expect 
us to squeeze you into the program.

Special requests have been made for Redhat/Fedora, Ubutu/Debian, or SUSE.
However, we are interested in seeing your favorite distro, what ever that 
may be.
