Let me preface this by saying that now that Steve is back on the list, I'm 
pretty much satisfied with the situation.  But I think this deserves further 
discussion.

In general, I think that if immediate action needs to be taken, a stern reply 
to the list forbidding the topic is enough to cover our legal butts.  Later, 
with discussion, the offending message can be removed from the archives.

I think if we are seriously worried about police action, we should consult 
with a lawyer (have we?).  Considering how were are affiliated with CMU in a 
number of ways, we could probably get some free opinions from CMU's legal 
department.  Until we have consulted a lawyer, I think claiming we are 
seriously concerned about getting our equipment confiscated is disingenuous.

I'd also argue that the best interests of WPLUG are served by making 
new/potential members feel welcome.
