Hi Beth,

That's a good agenda. I'll address a few of the points here, in preparation for Saturday.

This actually brings to mind two questions. First, Who is a member? and second, What powers do members possess? I could answer the first without answering the second, but I'll try for both.

Who's a member? Here's my view: A member is any natural person who has, within the last six months, done one of the following:
* Attended a General Users Meeting, InstallFest, or tutorial (more formally, any WPLUG meeting at which there was passed around a sign-up list),
* Sent an email message to any of the WPLUG mailing lists (we could exclude wplug-erie from this, since Erie's forming its own LUG),
* Signed up online to become a member of WPLUG (we don't have something like this right now, but I'd like to have some way of including the IRC regulars).

Okay, what can the members do?
* They get equal voice in meetings, on the mailing lists (wplug-erie and -board excluded), and in the chatroom.
* They can choose board members. (We'll flesh out the mechanics of this later on. Something better than majority vote should be implemented.)
* Do whatever else they want to, so long as their efforts on behalf of the group advance the usage of Linux in some manner. (This is pretty loose. This is a 10th-Amendment-style clause; members' rights reserved, y'see. It could be better phrased.)

ErieLUG's looking for anyone who's willing to come to Erie and bless their company. They can do quite a bit on their own, but they haven't had comprehensive experience with installing.

BTW, Beth, I'm willing to take ErieLUG coordination off your shoulders if you're feeling overburdened. Does anyone else have ties up north? We could form a committee if the board gives us its blessing.

That's about all I can suggest right now. I'm definitely looking forward to finding a topic for April and May. It's good to have these events lined up three months in advance.

BTW, Beth, you're doing a bang-up job. Keep it up!
