Dear wplug-plan,

I recently installed and am configuring Darwin on my old (circa 1998) Mac
PowerBook G3. This machine was two months shy of compatibility with Mac OS
X. However, Darwin, the open-source FreeBSD that underlies OS X, runs just
fine. With Darwin, I can run X11 and all the happy apps that go with it. My
experience so far is that Darwin is more of a sibling than a cousin of
Linux, so I think the group would be interested in learning and seeing. I
would show some technical stuff like how to set up user accounts, configure
the network, etc., plus some fun stuff like OpenOffice, games, etc., or
whatever interests the audience.

Feedback?

Robert Terwilliger
