Well, to be fair, an awful lot of time was spent on process, on getting organized (at least since late 2000). And that did bear some fruit. But it wouldn't have happened if people weren't willing to work at it.

But that same willingness got people interested in making more presentations and planning more activities. Since last year, we've acquired a stable meeting place for GUMs and Installfests, and we've had one or two presentation each month at the GUMs. And we have a snazzy website, with regular monthly minutes and lots of other good stuff. And on top of that, we've adopted a penguin at the Pittsburgh Zoo! (We should plan an outing there this year, whatcha think?)

So, we're kicking butt! And we've got a lot of people to thank for that, including all the new people who are getting into Linux for the first time.

There may be political factors in the future; we'll want to go about growing WPLUG's role in Pittsburgh and the high-tech arena, as the marketroids might say. But hopefully, we will be more socially- and technically-oriented than we were last year.

Anyway, that's my rant for the month. Here's to 2002. I'm looking forward to it!
