[wplug-members] Meeting and absentee ballot vote, Jan. 21

Dear WPLUG members-

The Western Pennsylvania Linux Users Group will hold a General User
Meeting on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 3:00pm.  The meeting will take
place at the IBM offices in Squirrel Hill on the third floor at 1710
Murray Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217.

An important item of business to be transacted at this meeting is a vote
on rescission of the bylaws.  This was proposed by vote at the November
19, 2016 meeting and requires a vote of the membership by absentee
ballot to become effective.

The ballot is attached and can also be downloaded from the WPLUG wiki at
<http://www.wplug.org/mediawiki/images/1/18/2017_01_WPLUG_Ballot.pdf>.
The effect of voting yes on the ballot is to rescind the bylaws, ending
WPLUG's current existence as a membership organization.  It will
instruct the Board of Directors to place WPLUG's non-physical assets in
the care of a custodian with the intention of maintaining the
organization's online presence and supporting those who wish to
reconstitute WPLUG in a new form.

You may vote in person at the meeting, mail in your ballot, or have
another person bring your ballot to the meeting.  You must be a WPLUG
member on the day of the meeting for your vote to be counted.  As an
amendment to the bylaws, the motion will require a 2/3 vote by those
voting to be adopted.
