Greetings,

After this note you'll find the official ballot for the 2005 WPLUG
Board Elections. We have a web page, <http://wplug.org/vote/>, that
contains downloadable versions of the ballot (text and pdf versions),
as well as examples of the voting procedure. We will also
(hopefully!) have statements from candidates on the page as time goes
on, so check back every now and then.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me, BethLynn, or Vance
Kochenderfer.

Cheers,
++Mark Dalrymple, WPLUG Secretary

Western Pennsylvania Linux Users Group
OFFICIAL BALLOT
2005 Election
Board of Directors

The Western Pennsylvania Linux Users Group is holding an election for
the Board of Directors. Votes will be counted at the Annual Meeting
on November 5, 2005 at 1:00 PM in 1507 Newell-Simon Hall on the
Carnegie Mellon University campus in Pittsburgh.

You may cast your vote at the meeting or by mail. The WPLUG Secretary
has designated Vance Kochenderfer the task of collecting votes. You
may contact him with any questions by e-mail at <vkochend at nyx.net>.

How to Vote: WPLUG uses an approval voting system. While only five
(5) Directors are to be elected, you may cast votes for as many
candidates as you like. Simply fill in each set of brackets below
with the digit representing your attitude toward the candidate:
    0 - Unfavorable
    1 - Weakly Favorable
    2 - Moderately Favorable
    3 - Strongly Favorable

You may write in candidates not listed using the spaces provided. The
winners will be decided by total points received. A blank value means
the same as a 0: both express disapproval of a candidate. A more
detailed explanation of the voting system and examples can be seen at
<http://www.wplug.org/vote/>. This page will also contain brief
statements provided by the candidates.

Score the candidates as directed above and print out the ballot. To
keep your vote secret, you should remove any e-mail headers, but if
you do not your vote will still be valid. Fold the ballot and seal it
inside an envelope. Print your name on and sign the outside of the
envelope. If the name on the envelope does not match the list of
registered members, your vote will not be opened - so print clearly.

To Vote at the Meeting: Bring your signed envelope to the meeting or
have another person bring it for you and cast it before polls close.

To Vote by Mail: Place the signed envelope into another envelope and
mail it to the Secretary's designee. When your letter is received, an
e-mail confirmation will be sent to you. Your ballot must be received
by November 4 to be counted. Send ballots to the following address:
