However, after graduation, I decided to seek employment as a technical writer instead because I saw a need for qualified communicators in the IT community. After four years of working in the field, the ongoing lack of opportunities led me to switch careers earlier this year so I could work as a Linux system administrator. <br /></p>
<p style=" margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px; -qt-block-indent:0; text-indent:0px; -qt-user-state:0;">During the summer, I enrolled in self-study courses that helped me earn a total of six Linux certifications. I currently offer Linux support and system administration services as part of my responsibilities on the WPLUG Board of Directors, and I manage several Linux servers that run a mix of openSUSE and CentOS. </p>
