Organization:
The Infrastructure Consulting Practice at Hewlett Packard works with our customers to effectively manage IT transformation across the business.  The majority of consultants in our organization, as a part of Technology Consulting, specialize in specific infrastructure disciplines.  These consultants will be assigned to and engage in projects at our customer sites across a wide variety of industry verticals including: Retail, Financial Services, Healthcare, Insurance and more.

Project Overview:
Join us in our effort to assist our client by performing Sys Admin duties to help manage their information systems.  This position is part of the Limited Term Employee program for the purpose of fulfilling System administration tasks, performed under the direction of the client.  This is a multi-year program which may be renewed every 12 months based on the contract continuance and renewal.   This position will require 40 hours per week.  At the discretion of the client and the weekly work load, the client has the flexibility of changing the number of daily work hours so that a different number of hours may be worked each day, for example 6 hours one day and 10 hours the next.   There will also be limited overtime and weekend work needed to accomplish some of the activities.   Services will be delivered on-site at the client in Pittsburgh, PA.

Applicant must be able to apply developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommend appropriate alternatives.  They must be able to work on problems/projects of diverse complexity and scope.  They must exercise independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. They may act as a 4+ years team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitate information validation and team decision making processes.  They must have the ability to handle most unique situations and seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.

Experience:
*       Has 4+ years of technology professional experience including 3+ years in consulting team leadership and technical experience
*       Experience in Datacenter consolidation, transformation projects with heterogeneous platforms, operating systems and operational best practices
*       Proven experience with the complete infrastructure stack, HW (systems, storage, network interconnect), OS, middleware. . RDBMS and business suite software like oracle E-business suite and or SAP experience is a plus.
*       Provides advanced analysis to clearly define problem statements, identify options and sets solution direction.
*       Has advanced skills in requirements gathering, assessments, application and database cataloguing, project management, infrastructure design and planning, problem solving, detailed application stack analysis, communication, scheduling and customer negotiation.
*       Coordinates Implementation of new installations, designs, consolidations and migrations for technology solutions in one of the following work domains: networks, applications or platforms.
*       Works independently, or as a team member under limited supervision on large sized engagements.
Qualifications
*       High Availability,  Clustering and DR (HP Service Guard, Metrocluster)
*       Hands on experience with HP 9000 PA-RISC rp7420, rp3440, rp5405 servers; HP Integrity rx6600, rx7640 and 3500 servers; SUN T2000, 5220 and 5240 HP ProLiant DL380 G4, G5 and G6 servers;
*       Extensive experience with HP 11iv2, HP11iv3, Ignite, SD-UX, HP SIM
*       Hands on experience with LVM
*       Knowledge of the following Storage Solutions: Storage (DMX,CLARiiON, Celerra NS-702G (NAS Gateway) Storage Area Network/SAN (Cisco EC-1700, MDS-9513/McData ED-140M,32M and 64M)
*       Knowledge of Veritas Netbackup a plus
*       Should be familiar with working on systems connected to SAN
*       TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NFS, NIS, Fiber Chanel and strong protocol analysis skills
*       Proficiency in SHELL required
*       Proficiency with Systems Management solutions preferably HP SA
*       Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well on a team

Preferred:
Experience with Enterprise Storage Systems on DAS, NAS, SAN (Brocade, Cisco) , iSCSI, FibreChannel, Replication architectures (EVA, XP, MSA, CA, Thin Provisioning).  Experience of EMC, HDS or Netapp is a plus
