Hello, my name is Nicholas Ricchiuto and I have a Linux Admin opening with a

the Moon Twp area of Pittsburgh, PA and it is a  Full-Time/Permanent
Placement opportunity.  The pay is in the70-78k range, depending on the

We are looking for a Linux Admin who is able to perform design and
administration activities on Linux Servers and desktops, and someone with
experience using VMware.  ECI Telecom is the leading supplier of network

Linux Administrator

Major Responsibilities: 

1.     Under the supervision of the IT & Facilities Manager provide
technical leadership of a large Linux environment;

1.     Perform design and administration activities on Linux servers and
desktops;

2.     Manage multiple large Network Appliance servers;

3.     Manage a complex NetBackup environment;

4.     Write scripts to automate administration tasks;

5.     Provide technical and judgment mentorship to junior Systems
Administrators;

6.     Perform routine administration activities on Windows servers and
desktops;

7.     Perform system backups;

8.     Completely resolve assorted end-user issues in a timely manner;

9.     Participate in the on-call rotation;

10.  Perform assorted light-duty facilities activities, such as physically
moving users, managing keys, etc.

 


Qualifications: 

Strong work ethic;

Positive can-do disposition;

 Strong interpersonal and communication skills;

Capable of writing proposals, and act as a vendor liaison;

Deep knowledge of Linux fundamentals (paging, swapping, IPC, device drivers,
performance tuning)

Deep knowledge of networking concepts (IP, routers, routing protocols,
firewalls, switches, etc)

Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (Tk, Perl, Bash, a
shell);

Familiarity with Microsoft products (Server OS's, XP, SQL Server, Exchange,
IIS);

Motivation and ability to learn new skills quickly;
