WPLUG to post my position. I have a Full time position located in
Pittsburgh PA. . This is not a contract and there are no fees. I have

Summary of Responsibilities:
The Support Services Unix/Networking Specialist is a key member of the
company Support Services team. The person in this role will:
• Have primary responsibility for the installation, configuration, and
support of the Unix servers and all installed software on the Unix
servers
• Have primary responsibility for the installation, configuration, and
support of all network connectivity into, out of, and at the
client office, including dedicated connections to several customer
networks and remote connectivity for traveling/remote company team
members
• Be involved with other Support Services/IT related initiatives on a
regular basis
Specific non-technical skills include:
• Good problem solving ability with ability to quickly acquire new skills
• Strong organizational skills with a laser focus on details
• Demonstrated and proven project management experience with ability
to establish and meet objectives on time
• Proactive, clear, and succinct written and verbal communication skills
• High energy with ability to function in collaborative team environment
• Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
• Minimum of 5-7 years experience in IT/support with direct
responsibilities related to the position
Specific required technical skills include:
• Experience with installing, configuring, and supporting servers
running the following Unix operating systems (all are required):
- Red Hat Linux (Mostly RHEL version 4)
- Sun Solaris 8
- IBM AIX 5.3L
- HP/UX 11iv1
• Must possess strong networking skills, including experience
installing, configuring, and supporting:
- Cisco PIX firewall, VPN, and concentrator with attached RADIUS server
- VLANS and routing configuration
- Iptables firewalling
- DNS/BIND configuration and maintenance
- Packet filtering (iptables, ipchains) and address translation
• Experience with Apache configuration and maintenance, including
virtual hosting, webdav, and reverse proxy configuration
• Proficient in scripting languages such as bash and perl
Additional, non-required, but ideal technical skills include:
• RHCE, CCNA, and/or CCSP certifications
• Experience with Nagios, Samba, HP Openview Data Protector, Oracle
9i, and/or MySQL
• Windows support experience
Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a
related field
