Successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of "hands-on" experience either with server monitoring tools or Systems Administration.  Knowledge of HP OpenView Operations for Windows is very desirable though experience with similar software may be an acceptable substitute.  Systems Administrator experience in UNIX or Windows support and the ability to support basic code written in UNIX shell or perl is also desirable.  The ability to support and create code using Visual Basic or others Windows scripting languages is required.

The incumbent must be able to assume a leadership role and provide overall technical direction for the Server Monitoring and Alerting environment at PPG.   This position will be responsible for the long term planning and serve as the key technical driver for critical projects within this team.  Current responsibilities include support of a HP OpenView Operations installation which provides monitoring services for close to 1000 UNIX and Microsoft Windows servers.
