JOB SUMMARY

 

For this position, the successful candidate will be part of a team of
talented software and systems engineers developing an on-demand,
web-based developer services portal for Embedded Linux developers. The
successful candidate will provide leadership in the continued evolution
of this TimeSys Network infrastructure focusing on the software and
systems architecture. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

*	Continually re-factor and re-architect the software and systems
architecture of TimeSys Network technologies for delivering web-based
developer services 
*	Ensure that the systems and software architecture is designed
and developed to address functionality, performance, availability,
security, usability, and maintenance requirements 
*	Be a hands-on developer implementing features and capabilities
with high quality and exceptional productivity 
*	Troubleshoot and Debug software and systems problems and
developing fixes and quick turnaround solutions 
*	Interface with Engineering and Technology management and
technical leads from other engineering groups to ensure that the entire
engineering and technology organization is working cohesively towards
delivering high-quality products
*	Interface with product management, marketing and customer
support teams  
*	Provide leadership to create a cohesive team environment
promoting best-practices for software development  

 

EXPERIENCE

 

*	B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field and strong
background in Computer Science and Software Systems (Masters preferred) 
*	Strong systems programming experience including multi-threaded
programming, distributed computing, performance analysis and
optimization, and security 

*        Demonstrated experience and strong knowledge of web-based
application architectures, concepts, and implementation, referably using
open-source technologies and standards (apache, python, SOAP, etc.) 

*        Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in modern web UI
development technologies including: HTML/DTML, XML/XSL, CSS, Javascript.

*        Solid understanding of the Linux operating system including
Linux system administration and apache web-server configuration on Linux


*        Strong familiarity with object-oriented concepts and design and
demonstrated experience developing software using object-oriented design
and programming 

*        Prior experience in data modeling and database design,
preferably Postgres 

*	Hands on experience with consumer facing web-sites 
*	Self-starter who is highly organized, learns quickly, and is a
team player
