<div>how are your partitions setup?</div>
<div> </div>
<div>I usually just set mine up with</div>
<div> </div>
<div>device mount point type</div>
<div>/dev/hda1 / ext3</div>
<div>/dev/hda2 swap swap</div>
<div>/dev/hda3 /home ext3</div>
<div> </div>
<div>if you are only getting the /dev/hda1 mounted at startup, and need /dev/hda3 then I guess you could just add it to /etc/fstab ... look here for fstab info : <a href="http://www.tuxfiles.org/linuxhelp/fstab.html">http://www.tuxfiles.org/linuxhelp/fstab.html
</a> um... not sure how you would point your old home to your new home though, unless you just del /home first... maybe ubuntu is smart enough to know when it mounts /dev/hda3 that location is where its new home is? other than that im not sure man.

I was trying to update EdUbuntu 5.10 to 7.04 that I already had a separate /home partition w/ five separate users on it. First I tried to upgrade over the internet and it did not take at all or it did, but the xserver did not and I did not know how to go from there.
<br><br>So, I stopped and sent for the disk. I tried doing a fresh install but it would only upgrade to the next version, so I had to do it several times to get it to 7.04, I thought that was odd. But very time I told it to select the separate partition as the /home partition.
<br><br>Well it did not use it and that partition is not mounted or read, of course. Now I have two /home/bruce, one on a unmounted and one with the system partition. I still need the /home partition with the other users on it.
