Next Friday or Saturday, we are planning to migrate the WPLUG mailing
lists from their current home to a new server.  This will result in a
brief interruption in availability (anticipated as a few hours, but
could extend to a day or two if problems crop up).

You will not need to re-subscribe; all existing settings will be
copied to the new server.  An announcement will be made just before
the existing server is taken off-line.  Please refrain from posting
until a follow-up announcement indicates the new list server is up
and running.

As a preliminary to the migration, we will switch the DNS to new
nameservers.  If you have any trouble with DNS, you can direct your
queries to ns1.linode.com or ns2.linode.com (these are up and running
already) for a correct answer.

This move also means that the existing web site at www.wplug.org will
go away.  Our new web presence will be the WPLUG wiki, which is
already active at <http://linode.wplug.org/>, and will answer to
www.wplug.org after the migration.  Feel free to create an account
for yourself there and contribute content!

The erielug.org site will not be affected by this change.

We are doing what we can to make this transition as smooth and
painless as possible, and with any luck you shouldn't even notice any
change.  If you do find problems, feel free to contact me or any of
the other board members directly.

In a few minutes, we will be taking down penguin, the machine
hosting WPLUG's mailing lists, in preparation for moving them to
the new server.

We expect that the actual migration will take a few hours at most.
A follow-up announcement will be sent to the list once migration
is complete.

Please do not attempt to post any messages until the announcement
is made that the lists are back up.

It may take as long as an hour after the switchover for DNS to
catch up to the new settings, so please be patient.  Thank you.
