how are your partitions setup?

I usually just set mine up with

device               mount point           type
/dev/hda1                /                       ext3
/dev/hda2               swap                 swap
/dev/hda3                /home                ext3

if you are only getting the /dev/hda1 mounted at startup, and need /dev/hda3
then I guess you could just add it to /etc/fstab ... look here for fstab
info : http://www.tuxfiles.org/linuxhelp/fstab.html   um... not sure how you
would point your old home to your new home though, unless you just del /home
first... maybe ubuntu is smart enough to know when it mounts /dev/hda3 that
location is where its new home is? other than that im not sure man.

Thinking of doing an install fest this time. I have a place, just need a few
things.

Looking for volunteers to do an install fest. Anyone wanting to setup a box
for show and tell, please let me know. The reason I am asking is because the
more people that volunteer, the more space I need to request and the more
time I need to request the conference rooms for.

There are plenty of power drops, I will be checking on the internet access.
worst case scenario, I will just run a network drop downstairs for the
install fest if need be.

Also, looking for people to do some evangelizing. I figured if we have an
install fest, we might as well try and let everyone know that were doing
this. maybe get a few new faces to join us.

Any questions, comments, concerns, grips, or complaints yell at me.

This is something I would definitely desire to be part of. What place do you
have in mind to have this install fest? Any idea for dates and time? We
could hand out free CD's as well. Definitely, I will have to contact a few
friends, they might want to join in this.

Once again, I'm still willing  to rebuild my mythbox again for the umpteenth
time.  I want to move back to Knoppmyth.  I"m also thinking of building a
"software raid" box out of an old machine to see if that'll meet my needs.
Either way, I can build something while onsite and offer whatever help I
can.

Great, I am working on a solid date right now, It will probably take place
at our usual place of meeting, Hamot Heart Institute across from Blasco
Library.

anyone familiar with Gentoo Linux? was thinking of bringing up this box I
have and trying to install that, though I have no earthly idea what i would
be doing. sounds fun though.

These rooms have A/C Power, plenty of space, and two Ethernet Jacks.

I talked with the Network Rep from Hamot, we should be able to have Internet
access for our meeting, (each room already has a drop that is dhcp'd, but I
just wanted to make sure that its OK for our use.) Hamot may try to just run
wi-fi access for us. I will keep you guys updated on the Internet access.

If all else fails, I can just run a line from my network upstairs to the
conference rooms and get access to us (I am just lazy and would rather not
do the work though).

If you plan on doing an install, bring any equipment you will need, power
strips, monitors, PC's/laptops, etc.  If anyone has extra hubs, routers or
switches, bring them too... I would rather have the equipment on hand and
not need it than not have it and need it.
If you plan on setting up feel free to show up at 9am if you want.

I will update the website later this week.
