[wplug-erie] need help from all you scripters out there1

ok, i got these 6 files being dropped into a folder every day on a local
machine (lets say /home/jmrr for now)
6 files are all named the same thing every day.
what i need, is a script that can be ran via cron, to look into the folder,
find the file names, and append a date stamp to them.
this way they are not overwriten on the weekends or anytime i forget to look
in the folder for them.

anyone able to help me out?
