The conference is hosted by The Pittsburgh Perl Mongers, a non-profit organization that advocates open-source development practices. With this conference, the Perl Mongers will bring a new tradition to the United States. Although Perl Workshops have been tremendously popular in Europe, the Pittsburgh Perl Workshop will be the first of its kind to be hosted in the United States.
