[wplug-erie] power Macintosh G3 install

I've decided to install Ubuntu on my Powermac.  But I have a few questions.  What version works best with a powermac with 233 mHz processor, 170MB ram?  I've pulled the hard drive out and replaced it with an unused 20 gig so I don't loose my os 9.2 install.  Any pointers, hints, things to look out for, or knowledge of the next installfest, either erie or pitt?  I'm not having a lot of luck finding info for the "Old World"  beige box I have.
