Someone (I'm sorry I didn't get this gentleman's name) suggested
buying the domain erielug.org through yahoo and set it up to
redirect to the current location http://erie.wplug.org

Is this what you were referring to?

$14.70 / year is still reasonable considering that most US registrars
the last time I looked were charging over $25 / year
