Hello Guys,

I went to checkout the room today that I have reserved at Mercyhurst
College. The room has about 18 desks, each for 2 students. It's quite
large, although most of it is filled by the desks themselves. The
technological setup is as I described earlier. I acknowledge the problem
of small desks that somebody pointed out earlier. In fact the desks are
"special", lengt for about 2 people, however width is about 15"
(relatively small). The desks can be combined to get more width of
course.

As far as drinks, those are allowed and available from Vending Machines
on the hallway right across the room. Cafeteria or 2 over venues will be
open for lunch definitely between 11 - 3 (cafeteria 11-1, other venues
1-3). The access to the caf and other places is allowed to
non-mercyhurst people, by paying at the door (accept only cash). The
lunch at the caf will be around $5 (it's a buffet, all you can eat).
Other venues offer Sub;s (we have a Sub Connection, similar to Subway)
and a grill restaurant.

I think that it me troublesome for people to bring food into the actual
classroom (if security or somebody else sees that it might be a
problem). Especially since that day there will be some commotion,
because other user groups/etc are meeting on campus during weekends.

I guess it's a question if the installFest should be a party with food
right in the room or if we adopt some restrictions and just concentrate
on the actual installation :))

I think that even if Mercyhurst is not the perfect location for the
installFest it would definitely be the perfect location for the usual
LUG's. That is because we can use great high-resolution, mounted LCD
projector with a large screen and laptop input. In the Blasco 90% of
presenters had trouble projecting their presentation using the provided
LCD projector.

Let me know what you think guys,

Lukasz Karapuda
